The CAD / CAM system for engravings and ornaments on flat slabs, edges and contoured surfaces
Incisione is an option of the CAD Logotag and it has been developed to create text and decoration on sheets, edges or contoured surfaces.
Logotag recognizes the fonts available on Windows (TTF). Users can automatically import all the desired fonts, character by character, either uppercase or lowercase and italic, assigning to the software the conversion of arcs and lines to be interpreted as coordinates of movement for the CNC.
There are three types of imports: 2D font (F2D), 3D font (F3D) and centerline.
- F2D converts only the edges of the font, allowing it to make incisions along the external profile of the letters. Alternatively, you can export created and hollow text by using Frestag, closing profiles with the processing of spiral pocketing (termine tecnico).
- F3D generates the toolpath to be followed with the tapered drill. The user can change the engraving parameters according to the available tool. The software automatically changes the Z in accordance with the geometrical properties of the character to engrave and backs them up as a “draft” automatically at the edges.
- Centerline is a variant of F3D: it was set up because of some particular needs of the customers who wanted to export only the center line of each character, dividing it into two parts as if you had traced a middle line. Using the centerline you get an engraving with fixed Z, with an even depth along the entire profile. The width of the engraving profile is determined automatically according to the tool diameter, the taper of the tool and Z set.
You can eventually import special characters provided by the various manufacturers of letters (Pilla, Biondan, Caggiati, etc.). Typically, these fonts have a fixed height and the holes to drill.
The text tool allows the user to create an engraved sentence simply and quickly, controlling spacing and justification.
The engraving function works also on all the closed profiles created with Logotag to get frames and decorations or to reproduce images, provided that the source file meets the same essential specifications.
