Lastra is the CAD/CAM software specific for marble, granite, stone, and similar materials working industry by numerically controlled bridge saws.

Lastra has been conceived in order to be installed directly on the machine or in the office and expresses its flexibility when used in conjunction with Touch Drive.

Note

The software can be installed also on Personal Computer with INTEL® Pentium ® Dual Core processor, 2Gb RAM min , but the performances will be limited

Operation

It manages geometric shapes nesting both interactive and automatic and it can be linked to Camera Software Option to import pictures of slabs from digital cameras.

Lastra combined with Frestag allows to do any kind of bridge saw machining: flat machining or profile machining (both for stone slabs and blocks).

It includes 3D view and photo-realistic rendering of the project and the interactive modification and elaboration of designs.

 

2D design

Lastra is embedded in Logotag a 2D CAD to design free geometrical entities and to set as background the scaled image of the stone slab. It imports 2D standard formats (DXF, DWG, HPGL, etc.) from other CAD/CAM systems or laser scanning (point file).

Nesting

This system provides a perfect combination of automatic, semi-automatic, and manual nesting, which provides great flexibility and optimum performance.

There are up to twelve different nesting solutions that can be obtained per cutting strategy. Users can choose to maximize the ease of cutting or to minimize the material waste.

The combination of automatic nesting, along with manual nesting functions like copy, moving, align, and rotating, proves to be a very powerful tool.

Machinings

The flat machining provides single cuts, multiple cuts, inclined cuts, big radius cuts, circular cuts, and automatic cutting strategies.

The profile machining provides roughing, profiling, transversal finishing (brushing), and concave and convex profile machining.

Lastra allows graphic 3D simulation of the machining process.

Technical characteristics

Lastra is designed to manage multiple cutting technologies (blade, water jet, drill, and milling cutter) that can be combined to reach great flexibility and optimum performance on bridge cutter machines.

Other features of Lastra are:

  • Vacuum Lifter: the system can manage automatically or manually the pick up device to move parts and to complete cuts, to remove scraps, and to reach the contouring area (if any) from the cutting table.
  • Drill & Milling Cutter: drill and milling cutter when available can be used to complete cuts started with blade.
  • Water jet: similarly to drill or milling cutter the water jet technology can be used to complete cuts or to entire slab machining.
  • Slab Inventory: it includes the slab store management referring to thickness, material, and category. It is possible to link the realistic picture of the slab to the piece, define the perimeter and then mark the area (as imperfect area) where it is not possible to do nesting.
