LASTRA - Intelligent Automatic Cutting

Lastra technology allow sheet cutting on CN machines with disc tool , mills or waterjet cutting systems.

Starting from the sheet geometrical profiles, obtainable from cameras positioned on the machines, this software carries out an automatic nesting considering the cutting technology.

There are present 2 types of automatic nesting: box for disc cutting, true shape for Waterjet machines (or mills).

Cutting courses are automatically calculated, optimized for various cutting technologies.

There is also a manual cutting generation module.

Thanks to this, it’s possible to create sheet machining sequences, able to always execute " passer by” cuts.

FUNCTIONS

Sheet image detection:

  • A camera placed on the cutting machine display on the monitor the sheet to cut.

Automatic nesting:

  • A dedicated software allows the placement of the parts to cut in automatic mode
  • The list of parts to cut is unloaded up to the exhaustion of the parts.

Manual nesting:

  • A dedicated software allows the manual placement of parts where you want on the sheet.
  • Automatic nesting can complete the positioning.

Management of defects:

  • Automatic nesting avoid the material defects.

Automatic cutting:

  • The software calculates the toolpath automatically , complying the adiacents parts

Movement of pieces and real time rendering:

  • Lastra allows the view of real render of cutted piece,also if the piece is moved on the sheet to search the best quality of the material

Template detection:

  • A special laser pointer detects templates placed on the sheet.

 


If camera is present

  • Enter the cutting project by “mark”, quantity , dimensions list or drawing, material thickness or acquire directly by an Inlay or Stair project.
  • Place a sheet on the cutting machine.
  • Video the graphical image of the sheet that appears with the defects eventually highlighted by a coloured chalk.
  • Place, if you want, the more important parts manually with the mouse on the more suitable part of the sheet, with the help of the sheet image.
  • Determine, using the mouse, the outline and defects.
  • The sheet is nested using the parts of the list.
  • 10 solutions of nesting are suggested, whith various cutting difficultly. The user can choose the right solution by the waste coefficient. At least, one solution is dcompletely automatic. The user can modify manually the nesting.
  • The cutting machine cuts automatically , using the appropriate parameters according to material and thickness.
  • At the end the parts were deleted form the list while the parts last.

If camera isn't present

  • The sheet format size is simply a rectangle.
  • Make the nesting as written above.
  • Before cutting, reset the cutting machine or place on the same point.

If laser pointer is present

  • Place the sheet on the cutting machine.
  • Place templates on the exact position where you want to cut.
  • Move the machine ( laser pointer) on the vertexes of the templates and read the points.Arcs are detected by an additional point on the arc.
  • The system calculate the toolpath according adiacent points, material, thickness…
  • Remove the templates and proceed to automatic cutting.

+ The advantages are: rapid and exact template detection, positioning (nestiong ) directly on the sheet, automatic cutting machine reset, obtain all the necessaries parts from the material
